Castlerigg is one of the most beautiful settings for a stone circle, surrounded by Cumbrian fells like Blencathra, Lattrigg and High Rigg. The circle is around 100 feet in diameter and has a curious rectangular enclosure built into the eastern side. The thirty-eight stones are pleasantly large and of interesting and various shapes.
