Bluebells - Scilla nonscripta

Photographs of Bluebells.

The richly-scented flowers bloom between April and June.

Britain's Bluebells represent almost a third of the world's population of Hyacinthodes non-scripa, the native British Bluebell.

It is thought that they were named by the romantic poets of the 19th century, who felt they symbolised solitude and regret.

Latin name: Scilla nonscripta.
