Liverpool has the highest number of sculptures per head of population for any city outside of London.

This bronze statue of Captain F. J. Walker is located at the Pier Head and was commissioned by Captain Walker's old boys association.

It was sculpted by Tom Murphy and unveiled by HRH the Duke of Edingburgh.
