Concorde G-BOAC
Concorde G-BOAC

Today I paid my first ever visit to the excellent aviation viewing park at Manchester Airport, the UK's third busiest airport.

Manchester Airport is the proud host of Concorde G-BOAC which is displayed on a bespoke replica runway.

On 19 December 1985, G-BOAC travelled at 1,488 mph, the highest recorded ground speed for a commercial airliner.

As you can see the sky was grey and overcast with little in the way of light.

I will be returning to take the same view on a sunny day.
